This shows the highest definition radar data available but only for one specific radar station. The advantage of this view over the composite is that it updates much faster and also doesn’t have some of the high altitude clutter that is visible on the composite. Do be aware that if you’re looking for data near the edge of one radar site’s view, another radar site may be more useful. You can even take advantage of the different beam elevations from different radar sites to create a 3-D picture of what’s happening in the atmosphere which can be helpful in certain situations.
